The specialist treatments offered by Bellissima Exclusive require a high level of special training and are by no means available everywhere. Rest assured that our Guiseley salon is registered with Leeds City Council, and also with the local Health Authority to carry out ear lobe piercing. Bellissima Exclusive has been evaluated to confirm that we match or exceed the high standards you have every right to expect from us.
Ear Piercing – what to expect when you visit our salon
First of all, come and see a fully-trained therapist at our Guiseley salon to talk over your requirements. We can only offer piercing in the lobe of the ear, but can position this so there will be room for a second piercing in the lobe, should you decide this is what you would like at a later date. Sometimes, a smaller ear lobe may only suitable for one piecing.
You will be asked to fill in our registration book for insurance purposes. Please note you have to be over 16 to have a piercing without a parent present. We do not perform ear piercings on children under four years old.
The ear piercing procedure itself
Once you’ve completed our ear piercing register, one of our trained therapists – wearing single-use, disposable gloves – will clean the surface of your ears with an antiseptic wipe. They will then pierce your ear with a Professional Piercing System. We take care to ensure that everything is thoroughly cleaned in front of you and the piercing only takes a couple of minutes.
The first question many clients ask is ‘will it hurt?’ The procedure itself is mildly uncomfortable and you will feel a stinging sensation afterwards. That’s all.
After your ear piercing
One of the most important aspects of having your ears pierced is the aftercare. In order to obtain the best results, please follow these essential steps:
Do not touch your ears for the first 36 hours after piercing. We would also recommend that you keep your hair tied back and avoid swimming for 24 hours. When this time has elapsed, you should:
- Start by thoroughly cleaning your hand and nails before touching your newly pierced ears.
- Apply the provided aftercare solution to each ear lobe, one drop at front and one drop at the back, then gently rotate your earrings. This should be carried out 2-3 times daily for the first 5 weeks. Sometimes you may find the earring sticks a little, but this is completely normal.
- Do not remove your earrings for at least 5 weeks, to ensure that the piercing heals inside. Please note that the hole can still heal up for up to 12 months if you don’t leave the earrings in place, particularly in young children.
Rigorous hygiene and safety standards
Ear piercing at Bellissima is carried out using one of the most hygienic systems available. For each individual client, we open a new sealed unit which is disposed of after use – so cross-infection is impossible. The piercing gun itself never touches the skin.
All our earrings are supplied in sealed packets and will be opened in front of you. They use nothing but fully sterilised, hypo-allergenic gold or silver plated studs – both for your protection and to ensure continued trouble-free enjoyment of your newly pierced ears.
Your choice of studs:
- Gold or silver plated £22.95
- Hearts/Stars/Birthstones £28.00
- Our price includes aftercare solution
Hopi Ear Candles
This natural, specialist treatment has been used for many years to address an array of different symptoms or problems. It is believed the ancient Greeks used Hopi Candles, initially for cleansing, purifying and healing. We’re pleased to offer you the same benefits here in 21st century Leeds!
What are Hopi Candles and how do they work?
Hopi Ear Candling is a relaxing, non-invasive treatment for the ears. The technique offers calming benefits for many different problems associated with the ear, nose and throat areas.
At our Guiseley salon we use a specially designed hollow candle which is inserted into the ear canal. The candle is then lit, using the natural properties of suction to gently remove impurities and wax from the ear. The treatment also helps to regulate ear pressure.
All candles are CE approved and are a medical product.
Some conditions which Hopi Ear Candles have been known to benefit…
- Hay fever
- Compacted ear wax
- Glue ear
- Post-flying pressure
- Sore throats
