Quick, safe Milia Removal in Guiseley, Leeds
Even if you’re not familiar with the word ‘milia’, you’ll know them by sight: milia are the small, raised, pearly-white or yellowish bumps you find from time to time on your skin. Caused when a pore becomes blocked, they are most often seen around the cheeks, nose, eyes and eyelids. The skin fails to exfoliate properly and the result is a small skin cyst containing keratin.
Clients from Ilkley, Guiseley and further afield – throughout Leeds and West Yorkshire – come to us for our safe milia removal techniques using micro lances or electrolysis treatment.
Using Electrolysis to remove Milia
Your Bellissima Exclusive therapist will use a very fine needle to cauterise the milia by passing a small electric current through it. The keratin inside the milia is reabsorbed back into the skin – a quick, easy process with very little downtime. You’ll notice some small crusts after the treatment, but these will disappear over 7-10 days.
The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes here at our Leeds salon, the exact time depending on the area and number of milia in need of removal. Clients generally describe the electrolysis treatment as mildly uncomfortable – nothing more than a slight stinging sensation felt in the area treated.
The electrolysis method of milia removal requires a brief consultation at your first treatment.
Using a Micro Lance to remove Milia
This method uses a very small lance to break the surface of the milia. Pressure is then applied to remove the milia from beneath the skin. This is usually described as mildly uncomfortable, feeling rather like a small scratch.
Micro lance milia removal can easily be added to most of our facial treatments. It leaves a very small mark which will disappear after a couple of days.
After your milia removal treatment at our Guiseley salon
After your treatment we would recommend that you avoid using skincare products and make-up on the immediate area where removal has taken place. You should also avoid going to the gym, and make sure you do not take a hot bath, shower or have any heat treatment for 24 hours.
